Terms of service

Read the rules for using Seawall. By using our service, you agree to these terms.

Effective datedatePrivacy policy

Read it carefully!

These terms govern the relationship between you (the User) and SnaiDerz, LLC (Seawall, “we”). By creating an account or using Seawall, you confirm that you have read and accept them.

Acceptance of terms

General provisions

  • By using Seawall, you agree to these terms
  • If you use Seawall for an organisation, you confirm that you may accept the terms for it
  • The terms apply to everyone who uses Seawall

Age limit

You must be at least 18 or the age of majority where you live to create an account. Children use Seawall only through a profile that a parent sets up on the Family plan.

Description of the service

What is Seawall

Seawall is a DNS filtering service. It checks every site your devices look up and blocks the ones that serve ads, trackers or threats.

Protection

  • Ads and trackers blocked
  • Phishing, malware and scam sites blocked
  • Encrypted DNS

Control

  • Parental controls, schedules and safe search
  • Allow and block lists
  • Statistics, and a query log if you turn it on

Limits

No filter catches everything. Ads served from the same address as the content, such as ads inside YouTube videos, can’t be blocked by DNS. Sometimes a site you want may be blocked; you can allow it in your account.

Registration and account

Your responsibilities

Give a correct email address and keep it up to date. Don’t share your password. Tell us straight away if someone else gets into your account.

Not allowed

  • Creating several accounts to get more free trials
  • Using the account for fraud
  • Sharing access with people outside your household

Safety

You are responsible for keeping your password safe. Use a strong password that you don’t use anywhere else.

Deleting an account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Your data is then deleted as described in the Privacy policy.

Payments and subscriptions

Plans

Seawall offers Personal, Family and Business plans, monthly or yearly. Prices are shown in euros and in US and Canadian dollars and include VAT where it applies.

Free trial

New accounts get 7 days free without a card. The trial ends by itself; filtering stops unless you choose a plan.

Auto-renewal

Plans renew automatically for the same period. You can cancel at any time in Subscription; filtering stays on until the end of the period you paid for. In Germany you can also cancel with the “Verträge hier kündigen” button, without signing in.

Refunds

Yearly plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. In the EU and the UK you can also withdraw within 14 days of buying. See the Refund policy.

Price changes

We tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

Terms of use

Permitted use

  • Protecting your own devices and your family’s
  • Protecting an office network on a Business plan
  • Using the free public address, if we offer it, as it is

Prohibited use

  • Anything that breaks the law or harms other people
  • Attacking or overloading our servers, or using them to attack others
  • Reselling Seawall without our written permission
  • Getting around plan limits or other people’s settings, such as a child’s profile

Our rights

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Intellectual property

Property rights

Seawall’s software, design, name and logo, and the block lists we put together belong to us or our licensors.

Open source

Some parts of Seawall are open source and are covered by their own licenses: see Open source licenses.

Not allowed

  • Copying or reselling our software
  • Reverse engineering it, except where the law allows
  • Using our name or logo without permission

Disclaimer

No guarantees

We work to keep Seawall available and accurate, but we don’t guarantee that it will always work without interruption, block every ad or threat, or never block a site you want.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, for example for intent or gross negligence, or your rights under mandatory consumer law. Other limits depend on the governing law and are to be drafted by a lawyer.

Termination of access

You can

  • Stop using Seawall at any time
  • Cancel the renewal in Subscription
  • Delete your account in Settings

We can

  • Suspend access if these terms are broken
  • End access if a payment fails
  • Block an account when the law requires it
  • End the agreement with 30 days’ notice

Consequences

After access ends, your data is deleted as described in the Privacy policy. Refunds follow the Refund policy.

Changes to the terms

How we tell you

We tell you about changes at least 30 days before they apply: by email, in your account and on this page.

Your choice

If you don’t agree with the changes, you can cancel before they apply. If you keep using Seawall after that, the new terms apply.

Applicable law

Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, USA. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

Disputes

Courts with jurisdiction. Statement about consumer dispute resolution: required in Germany for companies with more than 10 employees.

Entire agreement

These terms, together with the Privacy policy and the Refund policy, are the whole agreement between you and Seawall.
